Doug is National Insurance Industry Leader, Assurance and Advisory Services for Deloitte Canada.

Doug is a Chartered Accountant with more than 25 years of public accounting and consulting experience.  Doug is a partner in the Toronto office.  Doug began his career with the Firm in Montreal and has also worked in the Deloitte Ottawa office and on secondment in England.  Doug specializes in delivering accounting, auditing, regulatory and other professional services to the financial services sector including property and casualty insurers, life insurers, reinsurers, insurance brokers, banks and funds.

Doug has presented at Canadian and International Insurance Industry Conferences and lead Deloitte learning and development sessions on accounting, financial reporting, regulatory and financial services industry trends and developments.  Doug is a member of the Office of the Superintendent of Financial Institutions Canada Auditors Advisory Committee for life and property and casualty insurers and adviser to the Insurance Bureau of Canada Financial Affairs Committee.

Doug has been involved with public sector fundraising activities for various organizations including the Oakville Hospital Foundation, Kidney Foundation of Canada, United Way and Easter Seals. Doug serves on the Finance Committee and Board of Directors of the Oakville Hospital Foundation.

Doug earned his business degree at Bishop’s University and is a Chartered Accountant and member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Ontario since 1984.
