Ed Berko
SVP & Chief Risk Officer, Economical Insurance Group

Ed has more than 25 years of enterprise risk management experience in the financial services industry. He is currently Senior Vice President and Chief Risk Officer at The Economical Insurance Group where he is accountable for developing and maintaining comprehensive processes for identifying, assessing, measuring, monitoring, reporting and, where appropriate, reducing pertinent risks that could interfere with the company's objectives and goals. Reporting to the president and Chief Executive Officer, he chairs Economical’s Management Risk Committee and is a key member of the Executive Committee. He most recently served as the chief risk officer at Protective Life Insurance Company. Prior to that, he was chief risk officer for the Investments Department at MetLife.

Mr. Berko earned a Bachelor of Science degree in marine engineering at the United States Naval Academy in Annapolis, and a Masters of Business Administration in finance at The Wharton School of Business at The University of Pennsylvania. He is a licensed professional engineer in mechanical engineering.
