Gerry Martineau
Director, National Claims Response Centres, The Co-Operators

Gerry is the Director, National Claims Response Centres for The Co-operators. In this role, he is responsible to oversee all operational and technical aspects of auto physical damage claims handling for the organization. In his 31 year claims career with The Co-operators, Gerry has held a variety of roles, all focused on the delivery of an excellent client experience. Gerry holds a Bachelor of Administration degree from Lakehead University and his FCIP.

When invited to join this panel discussion Gerry said, “I’m looking forward to the opportunity to participate in this panel. The pace and scope of change in auto physical damage claims management is accelerating like never before. Changes in vehicle construction, the growth of safety and technology features and the push toward autonomous vehicles is rapidly changing the environment in which we operate. Add to this the emergence of artificial intelligence, advanced analytics and automated claims processing and we can expect to experience all the excitement (and terror) of riding the auto physical damage roller coaster for years to come.”

When not thinking about claims, Gerry enjoys spending time with his wife, 3 children and 3 grandchildren. He is also very active as a board member, secretary and teacher at Forest City Bible Church in London.
