Jeffrey Muller
Insurance Modeling Specialist, OSFI

Jeffrey Muller has eight years of experience as a regulator with the Office of the Superintendent of Financial Institutions Canada (OSFI). Throughout his time at OSFI, Jeffrey has held various positions in the Capital Division and is currently a Capital Specialist in the Property and Casualty (P&C) Insurance Capital Division. In this role, Jeffrey is responsible for the ongoing research and development of regulatory guidelines and capital requirements for property and casualty insurance companies. Over the past few years he was also actively involved in the development of OSFI’s new Advisory for capital requirements for mortgage insurance companies.

Jeffrey is currently the OSFI representative on the Non-Life Insurance and Catastrophe work stream of the International Association of Insurance Supervisors (IAIS) Capital, Solvency and Field Testing Working Group. In addition, Jeffrey was previously the OSFI P&C regulatory representative on the Canadian Institute of Actuaries (CIA) Committee on Risk Management and Capital Requirements.

Prior to joining OSFI, Jeffrey worked for over 13 years as an investment and pension consulting actuary with a major Canadian human resources consulting firm. He holds a Bachelor Degree in Actuarial Science and Mathematics from the University of Western Ontario and is a Fellow of the Canadian Institute of Actuaries (FCIA) and a Fellow of the Society of Actuaries (FSA). In addition Jeffrey is a CFA charterholder.
