Juan Carlos Rodriguez, VP Economic Capital, Aviva Canada
Juan Carlos is responsible for the reporting of Aviva Canada’s Economic Capital requirements and risk-adjusted metrics. He promotes and supports the use of risk adjusted metrics and economic capital for decision making in pricing, planning, performance measurement, reinsurance, and the launch of new projects. He leads the team responsible for the development, calibration and validation of the internal model and research in economic capital and risk management topics.

Prior to joining Aviva in May 2012, Juan Carlos was Vice President and Chief Actuary at ACE Insurance for its Latin American operations, and prior to that a consultant with Towers Watson in Philadelphia, and Mexico City.

Juan Carlos graduated from ITAM in Mexico City with a Bachelor’s degree in Actuarial Science and obtained a Master of Mathematics degree from the University of Waterloo. He is a Fellow of the Casualty Actuarial Society (FCAS) and Member of the American Academy of Actuaries (MAAA).
